In the immortal words of ex Fed Reserve chairman Alan Greenspan
"If I've made myself clear, then you've misunderstood me."
A quick "Heads Up" that Lynda and I will be presenting a short showcase sampling of our "Corporate Trivia Challenge" for the International Special Events Society ISES on Tuesday Night.
The Venue is the Greenwood Hotel, North Sydney starting at 6pm.
We don't have a great deal of time allocated to us, but looking forward to a night of fun with Industry professionals.
See you there?
What a delight on the first day of Spring to discover our resident Long Neck native Turtle out basking on a rock. She comes out of deep torpor each year to rule the old fish-pond over summer, but her timing this year was impeccable.
Interestingly, she will be very wary of us for quite a few weeks to come, but by mid summer will be racing towards us if we go near her, hoping for a tasty snail handout or perhaps to nibble on a wayward toe in the water.
Seems I've been losing a few magic friends over the last week or so.
First the southern charmer Bill Tadlock died and then Australian Paul Dalton.
Bill was one of the first people I got to know well who performed the Magazine Memory effect, a seldom seen classic that I now feature in most of my shows.
Paul Dalton was also a charming gentle man. I've got a couple of pieces of his old publicity material that I'll try and find and post in the next week, but he used to a do a very commercial Charlie Chaplin act and worked the clubs and theatres of the UK and Australia.
More surprising was to hear of the death of rising mentalist star, Jason Scott.
Jason was only 33 and was found dead last week in his Vegas apartment. The coroner's first investigation has proved inconclusive.
I spent an afternoon with Jason last year in my trip over to the USA to lecture in San Jose and the news of his sudden death came as quite a shock.
There's a nice compilation of some of his work here...
