I found these three different types of Sawfly Lava on the some of the trees that we planted, as a part of the Regent Honeyeater Recovery Program. They can do quite a lot of damage to young trees stripping the foliage overnight. I have tried relocating them to older trees of the same species to give our little trees a fighting chance, but I suspect that they will find their way back to the nice young shoots.
After reading Carol Probets News this morning I remembered an afternoon (Feb 2004) when walking at the back of our property and barely being able to take 2 steps without walking into an Orb spiders web ,complete with inhabitants
