I have only seen this species on our property on two occasions and then only 1 bird, this time there were 4. They really are beautiful and with a song to match. Their pink bill, blue eye and yellow cheek remind me of a toilet tissue add of the 1960's "Pink and blue and primrose too'

Nice one Lynda! Last year I was regularly watching a couple of Spiny-cheeks not far from your block. My impression is that they are increasing in numbers in the valley. I agree about their beautiful song, it can be almost Pied Butcherbird-like.
